This is a unique opportunity to:
- Lead the development and implementation of policies and programs relating to environmental and landuse strategies, programs and initiatives.
- Provide strategic and specialist advice on Environmental Strategy and management to internal and external stakeholders.
- Be an advocate for a natural capital approach, actively building and sharing your knowledge, skills, and capabilities to advance WaterNSW’s environmental strategies, programs and initiatives.
- Integrate biodiversity, carbon sequestration and climate resilience into land management activities.
- Identify opportunities to use Nature-Based Solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
- Monitor, maintain and report on environmental projects and programs;
- Implement nature-based solutions working with our first national people and the broader community.
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities under TNFD.
- A minimum 7 years relevant experience with tertiary qualifications in an environmental related discipline (science, economics, planning, management, ecology, sustainability).
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects and programs, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting and impact evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience in multi-stakeholder engagement, consultation and partnership development.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and overseeing external biodiversity and ecological service providers and rehabilitation contractors.
- Experience in provision of expert technical and strategic advice to inform long term planning.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience in natural capital measurement and accounting.
- Experience in nature and biodiversity as applied to corporate strategy, disclosures, policy and/or initiative design, including topics such as corporate biodiversity policy, TNFD and Science-based targets for nature.
