This is a Statewide EOI for Social Worker and Case Worker positions. We are seeking applicants who are interested in
permanent ongoing
positions across our Tasmanian offices (Launceston, Hobart, Burnie,
Devonport) and are looking for an opportunity to make a real and lasting

About the roles:
Our Social Workers work across the Foster Care and Intensive Family
Engagement programs as required and depending on organisational needs, but
will have primary responsibility in one program at a time. This role will
involve frequent travel within the region and at times across Tasmania and
may include stays away from home. The responsibilities will include, but
are not limited to:
Families for Life Services:
Conducting needs/risk/safety assessments, and developing time
limited intensive intervention plans with families, ensuring there is
transparency with the children, young people and family in their homes.
Providing counselling, crisis intervention, psychoeducation,
group work and practical support to families, in accordance with the
intervention plan, paying particular attention to impacts of parental drug
use, mental health problems, family violence, child abuse and neglect.
Develop and facilitate Key Care Team meetings and work closely
with Child Safety Services to monitor risks and individual outcomes
reporting.
Foster Care Service:
Participate in negotiation between Key Assets and the Department
to ensure that each child or young person referred is matched with a carer
who has the capacity to meet their needs.
Be present and proactive in supporting placements in order to
avoid placement breakdowns.
Support and coach foster carers to learn and grow in confidence
and ability, guided by the Key Assets Practice Framework for Foster Care,
and in adherence with organisational and Departmental legislation, policy,
procedures, standards and competencies.
Co-ordinate and facilitate foster care support groups,
connection events and training activities.

About you:
Must possess a full, clean, open Australian driver’s licence.
Must hold a recognised Social Work Qualification (Social
Worker), or a recognised qualification (Case Worker). A
qualification in Psychology, Counselling or other relevant degree will be
considered.
Prior experience working with and/or on behalf of children,
young people and families is essential.
Prior experience assessing parenting capacity and supporting
foster carers and/or families in their own homes is advantageous.
You are tenacious, diligent and resilient, and adopt creative
approaches to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Ability and willingness to travel, and participate in a 24/7 On
Call roster, as required.
