Join the thriving team at Salter Brothers Hospitality as our ESG Manager.
Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, this role will provide guidance to our Hotels and Retreats as to how to achieve their ESG outcomes.
You will assist in the creation and implementation of our ESG policies whilst managing internal and external communications, as we work towards gaining our certification for the entire portfolio within the next 5 years.
This role will be based at our Salter Brothers Hospitality Central Services which is located in Fortitude Valley.
Salter Brothers Hospitality currently operates 16 retreat hotels and estates; more than 20 restaurants and bars; 8 Spa Anise spas and other wellness facilities; as well as Spicers Scenic Rim Trail, one of the largest ecotourism ventures in Queensland with 38 rooms over five campsites. There are plans for considerable growth in the near future.
The role and key duties;
- Create and implement the ESG framework;
- Work with Hotel / Retreat Managers to ensure all properties are operating water treatment, waste and energy generation systems to approved operational licenses;
- Motivate, lead and mentor the property leadership teams to achieve their ESG goals;
- Set and evaluate quarterly ESG KPIs for our General Manager's group wide;
- Identify and advocate for greater environmental sustainability practices across the portfolio;
- Distribution of quarterly reports;
- Present monthly ESG progress reports to the Executive Committee;
- Ensure continuous improvement of group wide sustainability policies;
- Grant and business case development for key sustainability investments.
Essential criteria required to be considered;
- A formal or current qualification in Environmental science and/or Sustainable infrastructure and planning;
- Previous experience in a similar role from within the Hotel / Hospitality would be advantageous;
- Demonstrated real world experience delivering upon Sustainability projects in working operational environments;
- Passion for sustainability and corporate responsibility, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact through your work;
- Excellent oral, written and on-line communication and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited supervision;
- Proven ability to build positive, enduring relationships with stakeholders at all levels;
- A demonstrated commitment to continual improvement and learning.
