About the role

Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an Estimating Manager to join our team based in our Rhodes or Bathurst office.

Working alongside the broader Sales & Marketing team, you’ll lead a team of Estimators supporting Akura to win work and maximise value to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Estimators to deliver accurate and timely estimating support to the business

• Build team capability and ensure consistency in estimating delivery

• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Akura products and offerings

• Liaise with the sales team, Architects, Designers, Project Directors and Project Managers, to ensure quote/tender accuracy and best outcomes

• Identify opportunities for design efficiencies and cost savings and efficiencies

• Prepare quotes and tenders for new projects

• Provide feedback to the broader sales & marketing team on market pricing and product development

• Support the Sales team to manage customer enquiries where needed, ensuring Akura is best placed to win work

• Maintain cost calculators and supplier pricing schedule

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• At least 15 years’ experience as an Estimator / Cost Planner, with at least 5 years’ experience in a managerial role

• In-depth knowledge of the Building and Construction Industry

• Strong leadership and management capability

• Strong understanding and application of the quoting process

• Ability to interpret Architectural plans, prepare a bill of quantities and build up accurate cost rates

• Strong Computer Skills including Microsoft Office Suite - Advanced Excel essential and experience with Cubit is advantageous

• Exceptional attention to detail and a quality focus, always seeking to deliver your best work

• Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities with ease
