Key responsibilities:
You will make enhancements to our current ETL workflows to ensure that large volumes of data can be processed more efficiently, in terms of scale and speed.
You will migrate other scheduled ETL workflows to Airflow. All ETL processes will be executed, and notification will be sent to the Operations team from the same framework.
More specifically, you will:
- Design, develop and implement automated high performance ETL systems
- Work with a variety of different data sources, including SQL databases and flat files
- Efficiently manage structured data and meta data
- Work with querying and reporting tools, application development tools, data mining and OLAP tools
- Manage the data cleansing and data enrichment process
- Design data warehouse architectures
- Test tools, models, and data pipelines
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation
We're looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Technology preferred
- Strong experience in workflow management and automation systems such as Airflow or Control-M (3+ years)
- Previous experience in ETL development (5+ years)
- Experience with Bash, Python and SQL scripting, in a Linux/Unix environment
- Knowledge and expertise in data model testing, data flow validation and system performance testing
- Proven experience with designing, implementing and optimising ETL processes
- Experience with designing data modelling and data warehouse architectures
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
