This is a new position created to assist multiple areas of the Arkaba perform at their best following a significant renovation to all public and back of house areas.
About the Role:
You will assist with the customer experience at the Arkaba in a range of key areas.
Providing ideas and concepts for new event activations and leading the team in creation and execution while assisting with the quality of service across food, beverage, functions and events.
Supporting the Hotel Manager in administrative tasks, keeping systems current and ensuring they are used efficiently. Showcasing and displaying the Arkaba Hotel well in the public eye through social media content and facilitating internal communications amongst the team.
The position comprises 5 main areas of responsibility.
Major Events Co-ordination
- Concept development and presentation of ideas
- Includes major calendar event ideas, Sports Bar event concepts and facilitating events showcasing the liquor industry's range of products
Food & Beverage
- Supervising F&B staff and service
- Providing training to department managers and supervisors
- Assist with F&B service as required
Systems
- General F&B support
- H&L, pricing, ranging, keyboard layouts, troubleshooting, time switches
- Now Book It, bookings supervision, maximising occupancy and opportunity
- Confirming large restaurant bookings for future
- Order at table software, checking pricing, new products, specials, updating
- Create complimentary gift vouchers, customer display advertising
- Function Tracker, adding and monitoring function and event bookings
- RMS, posting event charges, sending invoices, payment follow up
Marketing
- On-site marketing support
- Briefing collateral event menus and concepts
- Taking photos/video and posting organic content on social media
Administration
- Create booking links for featured events
- Responding to Facebook and Instagram messages
- Internal communication and follow up for Arkaba priorities
Our ideal candidate:
Is a hands on and supportive leader, with 5 year’s experience in the hospitality industry in a range of departments including at a Department Manager level (food, bar and functions).
You're motivated and career-oriented, can think on your feet, have strong problem solving skills, an eye for detail, prior table service restaurant experience and a love for our industry.
