Darling Group is in search of an experienced and creative Events Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in curating exceptional experiences. Join a dynamic kitchen in one of our flagship venues and play a key role in crafting memorable moments.
As the Events Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of diverse menus for a wide range of events hosted in our iconic venue. You must be highly motivated and focused, demonstrate excellent culinary skill, have strong attention to detail, and a great work ethic.
About The Terrace:
Located in the heart of Melbourne's Royal Botanic Gardens, The Terrace provides the perfect back drop for any event. With uninterrupted views across the Ornamental Lake and city beyond.
The Terrace is a place for every occasion, every celebration of life, from the ritual of morning coffee and hot scones to unforgettable parties, events and wedding banquets.
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience as an Events Head Chef or similar role in a high-end catering or event setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with front and back of house.
- Excellent organisational skills with the capability to multi-task.
- The ability to effectively manage, mentor & communicate with a diverse team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in inventory management and kitchen management software.
- A proven track record of maintaining food and wage costs.
- Display exemplary leadership and passion for Australian & global cuisine trends.
- Collaborate with Executive Chef to forward plan menus, cost and then execute menu changes.
- Fully understands and complies with OH&S standards and food safety requirements.
