Head Chef:
Our award-winning Bistro is looking for a Head Chef to lead our kitchen team, someone who is forward-thinking, friendly, and passionate about food.
As our Head Chef, you will be able to adapt to the needs of our customers and our business, be responsible for assigning work in the kitchen, motivating the team to deliver high quality food, interviewing and training staff, kitchen inventory management and menu creation.
This is a full-time role, with a variety of shifts including split shifts and weekends – however, this position is flexible, and can be rostered to suit the applicant’s desired work/life balance.
Your Candidate Profile:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- 5+ years of experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef
- Creativity around menu development and food presentation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of chefs and kitchen staff.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- High standard of personal presentation & hygiene.
- Experience in stock control and ordering, with budgeting in mind.
- Ability to manage conflict, remain calm under pressure and work unsupervised.
- Events and Function catering experience

Qualified Chef:
The Full-Time position offers the right person, a above award pay rate plus Superannuation, 5 weeks Annual Leave plus 17.5% Leave Loading.
The position offers the opportunity to join a great team and be creative with the Bistro’s current Paddock to Plate offering using the best of Gippsland's local produce available.
