Code Black Coffee's newest project - this striking new venue will seamlessly blend both day and night time service. An imaginative brunch menu paired with expertly roasted coffee, followed by a refined dinner menu matched with a carefully curated wine list and notable cocktails.
About the positions:
Head Chef
Working closely together with our Executive Chef, this is an exciting chance to lead a small and dedicated kitchen team in a refined venue dedicated to outstanding dining experiences.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual who is keen for a challenge. This position demands a high level of experience, organisation & contemporary flair to produce elegant, unforgettable and most of all, deliciously exquisite food experiences.
The Head Chef will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the kitchen including ordering, stocktake, rostering, cost control, maintaining high standards of food preparation/presentation and leading by example to support and motivate the kitchen team.
This position will be ideal for a dynamic Head Chef looking for a new challenge or for an experienced Sous Chef who is ready to take the next step and lead a kitchen on their own.
Requirements from you:
Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a cafe and/or restaurant environment
Menu development experience and the outstanding ability to create innovative and captivating culinary experiences with the use of seasonal produce, while accommodating intolerances and allergies, and maintaining a high level of presentation on each plate
Take great pride and passion in the food you produce with exceptional attention to detail
Aptitude for preparation and planning, with strong organisational skills and a commitment to maintaining cost control
A natural team player loves the synergy of a great team, but can also work autonomously with ease
Personal presentation & communication skills are imperative, along with a positive energy & attitude!
Driven, ambitious and committed
The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the day-to-day operation of the kitchen (including running service, mis-en-place, minimising wastage and ordering) and for leading by example and maintaining the high standard in the absence of the Head Chef.
