Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in calculating costs and assisting with drafting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse projects and drawings to determine estimation costing.
- Source components and evaluate associated costs.
- Collaborate with subcontractors to assess pricing and lead times.
- Work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure project objectives and timelines are achieved.
- Coordinate tasks and projects with colleagues across Sales, Engineering, and the Shop Floor departments.
- Support drafting activities and tackle ad-hoc engineering assignments as needed.
- Uphold stringent safety, quality, and precision standards.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Engineering department.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping and reporting practices.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field; shop floor exposure is advantageous.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Experience in estimating small to medium projects, in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
