Executive Assistant - Legal

Part Time – 30.4hrs per week (days negotiable)

ABOUT US

Tasmanian Irrigation Pty Ltd is a State-owned Company that develops, owns and operates irrigation schemes in Tasmania, in accordance with sound commercial practice, to facilitate the expansion of agricultural production in the State.

Tasmanian Irrigation owns and operates 19 irrigation schemes across the state, along with additional inherited infrastructure. Tasmanian Irrigation’s promise to our irrigator customers is to “provide irrigators reliable and consistent water at the lowest sustainable price while responsibly and sustainably managing our water resources, scheme assets and the environment.”

The Company also oversees development of irrigation schemes, funded through a unique public / private partnership model. 

Tasmanian Irrigation now oversees 26,000 individual infrastructure assets with a replacement value of approximately $500 million and has the capacity to deliver more than 151,000 megalitres of irrigation water each year.

All schemes developed and operated by Tasmanian Irrigation are economically viable, environmentally sustainable, have strong community endorsement, are designed to last at least 100 years and deliver water at an average reliability of more than 95 per cent per annum.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Tasmanian Irrigation is searching for an Executive Assistant, with significant experience in the legal field, to join our team in this new role which will specifically support our General Counsel and Company Secretary.  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Key to this role will be the successful candidate’s ability to carry out the following:

  • Arranging meeting and travel bookings and requirements as well as efficient calendar management;
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, particularly in relation to proofreading and editing;
  • Have strong knowledge and understanding of the preparation and management of legal documentation
  • Have experience in reviewing and working with contracts
  • Be well experienced in conducting legal research via online databases and libraries
  • Be proficient in email and document organisation and management and have experience with legal document management software
  • Provide a high level of general administrative support covering a broad range of tasks;
  • Have good experience and be highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite including Word (particularly for formatting and editing), Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Adept in Adobe Acrobat for creating, editing, managing PDF documents and creating digital signatures
  • Easily adapt as required to working in a fast-paced environment; 
  • Maintain a professional demeanour in all interaction with internal and external stakeholders;

The successful Executive Assistant will also have: 

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar legal/EA role
  • Have a proactive and self-driven attitude with the ability to work autonomously; and
  • Be aligned to TI’s people positive culture.
