Details: The Education Directorate has a long-term vacancy commencing as soon as possible for a period of five years to fill the position of Executive Branch Manager, Engagement and Wellbeing Support Services.
The Executive Branch ManagerEngagement and Wellbeing Support Services is a key leadership role in the Directorate and across ACT Government. The Executive Branch Manager has responsibility for the wellbeing services for more than 50,000 students and provides strategic leadership in the development and delivery of student engagement services including allied health, psychologists and speech therapists as well as wellbeing policies for ACT public schools.
The Executive Branch ManagerEngagement and Wellbeing Support Services reports to the Executive Group Manager Service Design and Delivery and is a member of the Directorate’s Corporate Executive team.
The position requires a person with exceptional leadership and executive management skills including expertise in policy development and advice to Government. Ideally, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading a diverse allied health professional workforce and be capable of leading a team of senior clinicians.
The key responsibilities of the Executive Branch ManagerEngagement and Wellbeing Support Services are:
- providing policy and operational leadership to the Directorate’s student wellbeing function including a large team of allied health professionals;
- contributing to the design and delivery of significant school and system improvement initiatives aligned with the directions and priorities of the Directorate’s Strategic Plan;
- providing the Director-General and Senior Executive team with advice and ongoing support in relation to student wellbeing;
- delivering system leadership to support the provision of safe, supportive and inclusive school environments;
- leading key stakeholder processes and forums associated with the work of the Branch; and
- understanding and aligning the Directorate vision with whole of Government priorities.
Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $274,784 - $285,773 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $244,201.
Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
