Apply your substantial experience in public sector economic and commercial policy formulation and knowledge of contemporary developments and issues in economic and commercial policy.
- Lead the Department of Treasury and Finances’ Economic Policy and Economic Analysis divisions.
- Provide critical evidence-based analysis and strategic advice.
- Ensure robust reporting and analysis of economic statistics and macroeconomic indicators.
The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) is a key central agency that provides specialist financial, economic and commercial advice to the Northern Territory Government. The Department has a well-established reputation for providing high quality, expert and specialist policy advice and services, to the Treasurer, Northern Territory Government (NTG), other agencies and the Territory community.
As the Executive Director,Economics, your primary objective is to provide executive level policy, strategic and technical advice on a range of complex public sector economic and commercial issues affecting the Territory, including developing effective policy frameworks and initiatives to enhance economic and commercial performance. Working with agency stakeholders you will develop collaborative and constructive relationships and assist in building their capacity through the development and implementation of effective economic and commercial frameworks. In addition, you will provide strategic direction to ensure robust reporting an analysis of economic statistics and best practice forecasting of macroeconomic indicators.
To meet the challenges of this strategic role you require demonstrated senior executive leadership, substantial experience in high-level public sector economic and commercial policy formulation, and sound knowledge of contemporary developments and issues in economic and commercial policy.
Exceptional collaborative, communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with demonstrated strategic thinking and the ability to build organisational capability and communicate with influence.
Relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.
