Job description
The Executive Director, Independent Truth and Treaty Body Secretariat is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to the development of strategies, plans and procedures to support the delivery of ITTB's priorities and outcomes.
As the Executive Director Independent Truth and Treaty Body (ITTB) Secretariat, you will be provided day to day direction by the ITTB Co-Chairs. The State Librarian and CEO will assist with administrative matters. You will have extensive responsibility to ensure the ITTB meets its governance and reporting obligations. You will drive research into work relating to truth telling by other jurisdictions, including engaging with universities and research bodies. You will also engage with communities to see how they can prepare for the Treaty. This role and the ITTB will be pivotal in furthering the Path to Treaty.
As Executive Director will lead, guide and support the development of strategies, plans and procedures to support the delivery of ITTB's priorities and outcomes.
We are seeking a leader with demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities, who has a record of success in a complex organisation. The role requires someone with a strong background in successful strategy and policy implementation, service delivery and client services preferably working with or serving the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. You will possess a proven track record of delivering outcomes in challenging environments and in nurturing a confident and capable team.
This role is an identified role under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
