Here at the NSW Reconstruction Authority, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to serve as our Executive Director, Reconstruction. In this pivotal role, you will lead our organisation's efforts to drive and deliver reconstruction programs for NSW communities impacted by disaster.
As the Executive Director Reconstruction, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to our reconstruction strategic framework.
- Forge strong partnerships with local and state governments and community groups to represent the Authority’s views on disaster reconstruction strategies.
- Lead reconstruction experts and provide civil and engineering solutions to design and deliver reconstruction programs.
- Coordinate multi-agency recovery efforts, ensuring strategic focus on developing standards and systems and building reconstruction capability.
- Hold accountability for disaster reconstruction program outcomes, efficient spending, and administration, ensuring the highest standards of performance across NSW government agencies.
About You
We are looking for an executive who
- Proven experience in the design, management and oversight of all phases of complex multi-disciplinary engineering, infrastructure and/or public works.
- Has a demonstrated understanding of economic reconstruction and recovery to enable regional and local economic recovery post disaster.
- Brings valuable insights from working with vendors, government leaders and councils, with a deep understanding of their dynamics and operations.
- Demonstrates experience adeptly navigating diverse stakeholder and community interests, fostering meaningful relationships and driving consensus to ensure effective place-based disaster reduction programs.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of different levels of governments, navigating their complexities and processes with ease.
- Is a natural collaborator and problem solver, managing complex relationships and leading teams through uncertain and changing environments.

About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the NSW Reconstruction Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government.
