Country to Coast Queensland (CCQ) delivers the primary health network (PHN) program for Central Queensland, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast on behalf of the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care.  CCQ has an ambitious agenda to design and deliver world recognised primary health outcomes for the people in their region. Achieving this will require CCQ as a commissioning organisation to not only focus on primary health service provision, but also the environmental, social and cultural determinants of health which support communities to live their best lives. 

Our diverse region covers 161,108 km2 from Sunshine Coast to Rockhampton and across to Emerald. The population in the region is just under 1M people with around 68% living regionally or remotely and more than 28% living in the most disadvantaged quintile. 

We collaborate with our community to provide exceptional primary healthcare services to reduce health inequalities for our region. CCQ has seven key priorities for health improvement: mental health, alcohol and other drugs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, population health, health workforce, digital health and aged care.

About the role

The Executive Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications plays a pivotal role in CCQ’s journey to deliver their vision. They lead the development of a world-class approach to Strategic Marketing and Communications that not only enhances CCQ's brand and reputation, but also innovatively communicates the complex concepts driving system reform. Through clear and compelling messaging, they empower our communities of consumers and clinicians to contribute to our vision of healthy, resilient, and interconnected communities - from country to coast.

This position reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the Executive team that works collectively to ensure the organisation delivers on the strategic priorities set by the Board. Currently the position has line management and performance development responsibilities for a small team and will be responsible to review and build the Marketing and Communications function that is fit for purpose so that it will enable the delivery of the ambitious growth agenda. 

To be considered for this position you will hold tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Media and PR or a related field, with demonstrated experience in similar roles. You would bring your advanced knowledge of strategies, systems and processes that contribute to an efficient and contemporary approach to delivering excellent Strategic Marketing and Communications solutions. This position would be suitable if you are a highly engaged team player that has strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to deliver exponential outcomes being highly regarded.
