Robert Half Executive Search (RH ES) has been exclusively retained by a market leading Construction & Building enterprise to recruit a hands-on, commercially savvy and well networked Executive General Manager (EGM) to lead its Home division in South West Victoria. This role must be based in either its Ballarat or Geelong regional offices.

You will be joining a driven and collegiate leadership team poised to continue increasing market share. Aligned with the enterprise's aggressive growth strategy, the business seeks a highly credentialled and well-networked EGM who will lead Sales, Administration workflow, and Building and Construction teams, with a focus on delivering increased sales, operational rigour and outstanding customer experience.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO, you will be a pivotal member of the Executive Leadership Team, with full profit & loss responsibility for leading a mid sized multi-site team. As EGM, you will be responsible for driving growth across Sales, Construction and Revenue in the South West region of Victoria. In addition, you will be an innovative thinker with the skills to build and present business cases and maximise on new opportunities to grow the organisation's footprint.
Working closely with other regional EGM's, the role's focus will be to grow the regional performance and provide team leadership through delivering against some of the capabilities outlined below ;
- Proficient with financial reporting and a well rounded understanding of managing a full P/L business and associated cash flow management.
- Significant volume housing construction experience, including demonstrated experience in leading construction teams across multiple locations including:
- On time and within margin delivery and compliant with site Quality Assurance
- Budgetary control and management through the entire construction life cycle.
- Demonstrate aptitude and understanding of contractual terms and conditions, legal and financial requirements in the building industry.
- Manage, monitor, and ensure contracts performance against plan.
- Significant workflow experience from a new home order including drafting; estimating; permits cycle and construction
- Significant new Homes Sales experience demonstrating an ability to manage; lead and grow multi-location Sales teams.
- Manage and grow a Display Footprint.
- Display an ability to lead, manage and motivate the team to maximise revenue outcome
Your Profile
You will be an accomplished, engaging and high energy General Manager. A leader with a track record of demonstrable success in driving sales growth, having full P/L responsibility and leading high performance teams within the Home Building, Building Materials and/or Construction industry.
You will bring extensive experience in senior roles within the volume residential home building sector with an intimate knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and deep industry networks and a trusted reputation.
You have demonstrable operational, commercial and sales experience with the ability to review and develop strategies around opening new markets to drive growth, combining strong financial, sales and IT skillsets with professional behaviour, communications standards, and general interpersonal skills
You have the confidence to work decisively and autonomously, can inspire and lead teams within a multi-site business environment.
Prerequisite of this role to be based in either Geelong or Ballarat
