The Chief Operations Office (COO), Strategy and Risk team, as a newly established function, are responsible for leading strategy and governance across COO, and for ensuring consistent management of non-financial risk and controls across COO.
The Executive Manager, COO Governance role is dedicated to designing and executing on the COO strategic roadmap and ensuring that all utilities and crews are aligned to delivering on COO’s strategic priorities

This role reports into the General Manager COO Strategy and Risk role.
Do work that matters
The purpose of this role is to work across all the COO utilities and functions to support the COO LT and the GE with all key governance activities, especially strategic support, management and coordination of the COO LT developing and driving strong corporate governance and operational effectiveness across COO.
Your Responsibilities
Identify and develop opportunities and strategies to implement and manage operational consistency and alignment across COO.
Provide governance and business administration to projects or key COO-wide activities and focus areas, as requested by the Group Executive/ General Manager Strategy and Risk.
Lead strategic initiatives critical to BU priorities on behalf of Group Executive/ General Manager Strategy and Risk.
Prepare materials for the COO LT for various business, risk and governance forums, including the preparation of presentation materials, speaking notes, strategy papers and Board and CEO level documentation.
Ownership for the drafting of board reports, ELT updates (non risk), Business continuity planning, QBR process, and managing and drafting of the Annual operating plan.
Ensure appropriate governance for decision making across the business unit and provide oversight for reporting to the Board, the CEO and various committees and forums.
Develop and implement business management practices and operating rhythms, supporting the Leadership team in effectively leading the business strategically and operationally.
Oversee, facilitate and coordinate the Leadership team meetings and their respective Operations/ Business Management teams to deliver an aligned approach for agreed Business Unit initiatives and strategic priorities.
Embed a culture of operational excellence and maximise efficiency by designing appropriate content, frequency and agenda for meetings, strategy forums, leadership events and off-sites, and employee engagement in partnership with relevant support partners.

Experience working on governance or executive advisory roles.
Demonstrated understanding and thought leadership relating to BU operational excellence and governance practices.
Can communicate complex ideas clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) including the ability to document complicated matters in a clear, coherent and concise manner.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and work collaboratively across the Group and across COO.
Eagerness to learn and ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Passionate about delivering on customer outcomes.
