The Technology division delivers the Group's information technology and banking operations functions to ensure the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation. Cyber Security protects the bank and our customers from theft, losses and risk events, through effective and proactive management of cyber security, privacy and operational risk.
We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half your time each month connecting in office. Your New Team
The Application and Service Protection Technology team is at the forefront of managing our customer's and employees' security and resilience of our business and assets. You will have an opportunity to lead a large team and make an immediate impact building and developing new solutions and solving difficult issues.
Your impact and contribution:
As Crew Lead - Application and Service Protection Technology you will report directly to the GM - Domain Lead Group Security (Group Security CIO) . In this role you will lead, inspire and motivate a high-performing team of technology professionals to drive world-class engineering practices.
You will provide your expert and strategic technology leadership capabilities and vision to the crew as a "Mini-CIO," accountable for end-to-end delivery of technology products and Services around application protection services like web application firewalls, denial of Service Protection, API security and vulnerability and secure configuration management.
You will also:
Monitor competitors and peer organisations to stay abreast of emerging trends in the industry; utilising insights that can create a competitive advantage for the crew.
Be accountable for the technology portfolio management for the organisation; work with key business partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment of the product strategy and roadmap to business or customer needs and relevant reference architectures.
Define the crew roadmap in line with the broader technology strategy and oversee the delivery of technological outcomes for the crew.
Work with Agile frameworks to deliver features and functions, paving the way for squads to deliver autonomously at pace.
Drive risk and financial management, e.g., reduce tech debt, cost to serve, cost to run. Measure and manage the total cost of ownership of crew technology.
Provide leadership in workforce planning to determine optimal tech capability including development, performance management, and career progression.
Manage compliance and regulatory obligations - remediation and/or initiatives.
Assist in the management and selection of IT suppliers and vendors for services in close co-ordination with the Performance and Procurement teams.
Manage the core technology assets of the crew and ensure reliability, functionality and maturity of the service management functions.

Have a passion for enabling technology to enrich and make intelligent decisions on business processes and interventions to protect our customers and colleagues. You are an experienced leader with strong technical capabilities and background. e.g., Engineering, Architecture, Head of Technology.
You will bring:
Experience in the domains of Application and Service Protection preferred.
Proficient in security concepts and technologies in the domains of WAF/DDOS protection, API security and vulnerability and secure configuration management.
An understanding of Agile delivery frameworks.
Highly advanced strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities, working across a similar technical leadership role.
Excellent influencing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry standards in the context of the cyber security.
