Your Role
Join IAG’s Group Risk Advisory team in this newly created 12-Month Fixed Term contract as Executive Manager, Operational Risk (IMA). You will provide group-wide thought leadership, advice and support as you optimise the Operational Risk practices of Insurance Manufacturers of Australia Pty Ltd (IMA). Driving the roll-out, sequencing and implementation of CPS 230 across IMA you will uplift the Operational Risk management practices and have strategic oversight and assurance.
Engaging with Group Risk Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), first line risk and senior business stakeholders you will drive informed decision making to ensure CPS 230 is appropriately planned, scheduled, and delivered across IMA. You will provide CPS related reporting to Board, Executive and senior Management governance committees, engaging APRA as necessary. You will be a trusted business partner and advisor as you help IMA to actively manage its risks with a positive culture and contemporary risk management model that balances risks and opportunities.
Critical to your success is your ability to engage broadly and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders within IAG, throughout Group Risk and the market to understand developing trends and best practice while translating to practical application to support the future of IAG. The role requires the ability to effectively collaborate and influence outcomes with colleagues across a diverse business operational and regulatory landscape to achieve tangible objectives.
This role is a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity ideally based in Sydney or Melbourne.
About You
- 10+ years related business experience.
- Project Management, ideally delivering projects in Financial Services.
- Experience in Operational Risk management and regulatory initiatives, including CPS 230
- Experience working in Banking, Insurance or financial services, with strong industry connections and knowledge to bring best practice into IAG.
- The ability to engage broadly and communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders; operates with a collaborative and outcome focused mindset.
- Strategic mindset; financial and business acumen; customer focus; cultivates innovation; comfortable to work with ambiguity.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to draw insights from multiple sources of information.
- Advanced written communication skills, including prior experience drafting Board papers.
- Proven connected and interdisciplinary thinking (i.e., across the value chain).

- Expert capability in building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
