Planning, Market Risk and Investment Functions:
- Lead the annual business planning process through the provision of key financial outputs (ie equity value, EBITDA etc) and performing scenario analysis
- Group oversight for long term planning, and reporting;
- Deliver and maintain long-term cash flow scenarios and business planning tools that enhance decision making;
- Deliver and maintain the overall company medium and long term business model
- Manage the company valuation process for the purpose of annual impairment testing with reference to SPIC’s investment in the Australian cash generating units;
- Provision of thought leadership to progress specific revenue management opportunities, alternative commercial routes to market and hedging products;
- The management of the Middle Office function, Risk and Risk reporting;
- Management of the Energy Markets Committee, which is responsible for the governance and oversight of the Australian Energy Portfolio Management function (generation & retail);
- Review and endorse risk models and trading policies as developed from time to time;
- Review and input into portfolio optimisation and the management of Company earnings volatility;
- Management of the CIS including the application of standards, tollgates and processes;
- Contribute to Corporate Activity (M&A) and establish assessment protocols for the investigation of new investment opportunities;
- Monitor investment case returns on investment criteria;
- Provide the modelling, forecasting, commercial and due diligence in support of business development objectives
- Management of the corporate valuation processes
- Managing a team of investment analysts
- Assist with the preparation of project investment cases, including ensuring appropriate standards and templates for Board papers are applied;
- Support Corporate Finance funding initiatives;
Treasury Functions:
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s funding activities, including corporate and project financing activities.
- Develop strategic financing options including preparation of funding plan papers, presenting the strategic options to senior management, the Board and shareholder representatives and co-ordinating appropriate approvals.
- Identify the bankability issues with projects and advise on bankable solutions to assist with project financings.
- Provide financing solutions and commercial leadership in support of M&A and other corporate initiatives.
- Work closely with the shareholder to ensure that equity funding for various corporate funding requirements is obtained.
- Oversight of the management of financial risk, including interest rate, foreign exchange and other financial hedges and derivative transactions, and ongoing monitoring.
- Responsible for implementation of various equity and accounting/tax structures, including assisting with the implementation of effective accounting/tax structures for debt raising purposes.
- Manage the Treasury team and assist with the development other Corporate Finance staff.
- Work closely with Financial Services to monitor cash flow and ensure all relevant corporate finance inputs to the group cash flow forecast are correct and current.
- Foster and maintain strong working relationships with business units, shareholder representatives, existing lenders, potential lenders, equity investors and potential equity investors.
- Manage Treasury SLT and Board reporting and business case papers.
- Ensure the business units compliance with obligations and undertakings under financing facilities and financial licenses.
- Manage the credit risk exposure to counterparties domestically in accordance with the Credit Policy guidelines (as amended from time to time) including assessing creditworthiness of commercial counterparties.
- Ensure that Pacific Hydro’s treasury policies are adhered to, improved upon and those adequate systems are implemented to ensure that risks are mitigated.
Ensure that the Company’s compliance obligations are actively maintained, managed and kept up- to-date with particular focus on cyber security and data protection and the compliance obligations allocated to the position title as identified in the Company’s Register of Compliance Obligations (as set out in the Compliance Procedure and as amended from time to time).
