Job Description
As an Executive Manager - Sustainability at ALDI, you will have the unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on reducing our footprint on a national scale in this newly created role.
Be the driving force behind our emission reduction strategies, collaborating with stakeholders on a global level who will support your initiatives to make a positive environmental impact on our heavy vehicle fleet.
Leverage your experience to monitor, interpret carbon-neutral developments and drive the implementation of our Supply Chain sustainability road map. This is a 24 month contract opportunity, based in Minchinbury.
What does the role look like?
- Leverage past leadership experience to drive the successful implementation of emission reduction strategies.
- Conduct thorough assessments of the current Supply Chain to identify areas of opportunity.
- Provide guidance on resourcing, specialist skills, and subject matter expertise to support projects in line with ALDI's environmental priorities.
- Establish metrics to measure the success of initiatives, ensuring alignment with ALDI's goals.
- Monitor and report on sustainability performance, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Stay informed about federal and state legislation related to carbon emissions with stakeholders to influence positive change.
- Build relationships with suppliers and logistics partners to establish collaborative initiatives for carbon reduction.
- Engage with International Sustainability teams and collaborate with ALDI countries worldwide to share insights, best practices, and collectively address carbon challenges on a global scale.
What do we need from you?
- Demonstrate ability to translate overarching sustainability objectives into actionable plans with measurable success metrics.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of relevant decarbonisation frameworks, standards, and regulations.
- Strong advisory skills to influence strategic decisions & to provide innovative solutions to address current issues.
- Ability to leverage data-driven insights to inform and drive strategic decision-making within a dynamic business environment.
- Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills whilst maintaining a collaborative approach.
- Ability to apply strong analytical skills to provide data-driven recommendations on sustainability initiatives.
- Exhibit a genuine passion for sustainability, inspiring the Supply Chain department and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
