Executive Officer

Study Cairns is an education, training and tourism network representing organisations, institutions and businesses in Cairns dedicated to providing help and support to students in the Cairns region. 

Reporting to the Study Cairns Executive Committee, the Executive Officer provides leadership and guidance to the Study Cairns team while working collaboratively to position Cairns as the top regional international education and training destination in Australia.

As Executive Officer you will establish and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders to implement the Study Cairns Strategic Plan and derive positive outcomes in line with Study Cairns objectives and funding KPIs. 

The successful candidate will be self-directed and motivated, requiring limited daily guidance. They will have extensive business experience and be multi-skilled in a range of skill sets, particularly sales and marketing, business development, finance management, grant writing, board governance and project acquittals. 

Key Criteria:

• Australian permanent residency or Australian citizenship.
• Ability to travel interstate/overseas to attend international education sector events. Valid passport required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in project management, preferably in a higher education or international marketing and engagement context
• Ability to facilitate cooperative partnerships with a range of stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
• Ability to take direction and work with a limited budget and resources.
• Demonstrated ability to take direction yet work independently, employing strong organisational, time management, financial, problem solving and communication skills.
• An interest in different cultures and willingness to embrace the international student experience. 
• A valid Driver License and access to a reliable vehicle 

Desirable:

• Experience in working with and reporting to a volunteer committee/board. 
• A solid understanding of the international education and training sector. 
• Knowledge of the Cairns business and education sectors.
