The Jamie Larcombe Centre is a service that provides comprehensive (community) trusted and person centred, family orientated veteran mental health services to South Australia. Specialising in mental health for veterans and opportunities for treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder for police and emergency service personnel, the service is an evidence based and recovery focussed service that is built on trust and partnership between individuals, their families and health providers.
The Exercise Physiologist participates as a member of The Jamie Larcombe Centre (JLC) Rehabilitation Team ensuring optimal care and outcomes by providing a comprehensive range of therapy services to patients receiving care at JLC. The Exercise Physiologist works in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team, to effectively plan and provide therapeutic interventions based on patient goals. This may involve consultation and liaison with the team, other professional disciplines and non-government organisations.
About the Role:
- Assessing patients’ physical abilities, problems and goals using a variety of formal and informal assessments.
- Planning and implementing exercise intervention programs , utilising a modern high end gym facility and, including using a broad range of technologies including IPADS and therapeutic exercise apps.
- Prescribing and arranging for the provision of appropriate equipment.
About you:
- Experience as a clinician in the assessment and provision of high-quality rehabilitation to patients with a variety of neurological or orthopaedic conditions
- Knowledge of issues arising from psychological dysfunction and the role of exercise in this domain.
- Experience in the supervision of staff, students and assistants
