The Role:
Operating on 3,800 hectares, utilising 800 hectares for cropping and 550 hectares of irrigation for hay and lucerne seed production, alongside expanding Merino flock and Angus herd. This multi-faceted business with several agricultural assets now provides an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Farm Hand to join their small team in Keith, South Australia and be involved in redeveloping their Keith operations. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the enterprise, with potential development opportunities.
This block predominantly produces hay and stock feed for a targeted market. Although this remains a key focus, plans are being implemented to expand livestock production alongside cropping. The hay is irrigated with a combination of flood and centre pivots, producing both lucerne and cereal hay and allowing for paddock finishing of prime lambs. All elements of the cropping cycle are completed in-house utilising well-maintained modern farm machinery.
Currently carrying 400 Angus breeders, a well-planned AI program featuring Brangus will produce a quality line of Ultra Blacks, which will be retained and continued with ongoing AI programs to increase the herd. Similarly, the 2,000 Merino ewes and 600 composites are covered by White Suffolk rams with a dual wool and prime lamb focus and intended flock growth.

Ideally, candidates will have experience in similar mixed farming roles and be comfortable in cropping, cattle and sheep production along with the following attributes:
The successful candidate will be accommodated in a recently renovated 3-bedroom home with a new kitchen and bathroom, a garden, a work ute, and a quality salary. The property is 15km from the township of Keith, South Australia, which offers local schooling, great sporting facilities, medical, and shopping services.
Keith is a town and locality in the Australian state of South Australia. It is situated in the state's southeast, approximately 225 kilometers from Adelaide, at the junction of the Dukes Highway and the Riddoch Highway.
