Experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician - Histology - Melbourne

We are seeking an Experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician,  specialising in Histology to join our dedicated team. You must be reliable, proactive and adaptive to change whilst prioritising our patients care and being a committed part of our team.

This is a full time position for the right candidate/s, requiring availability Monday to Friday on a rotating overnight shift. Possible weekend roster in the future.

Essential Laboratory Scientist Skills:

• Hold an AIMS Accredited Medical Laboratory Science Degree
• Histology Dissection Skills Essential - Extensive Experience in Simple and Complex Skin Dissection essential
• Histology Embedding Skills preferred
• Histology Sectioning Skills preferred
• Experience within a histology laboratory 
• Knowledge of Histology Special Stains and Immunohistochemistry

Additional Laboratory Scientist/Technician Tasks:

• Specimen Reception
• Slide send-away
• Slide and request filing
• External stakeholder communications

The successful candidate must meet the essential primary skills selection criteria above with a demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to detail paired with excellent problem solving skills. They must uphold quality standards and adhere to quality system protocols whilst maintaining excellent communication and transparency with management and colleagues.
