Qualifications & experience
- Experience as a Medical Specialist Personal Assistant is essential.
- Experience in the use of Genie software essential.
- Knowledge of hospital billing, Private health insurance and Medicare essential.
- We are seeking a cadidate with an engaging personality, the ability to multi task and be flexible, a willingness to learn and an eagerness for variety in a fast paced practice.
- The candidate will be part of a larger team and may be called upon to assist in other areas of the practice from time to time.
- A WWVP card or willingness to obtain one are essential. Covid-19 and annual influenza vaccinations are mandatory and proof must be provided.

Tasks & responsibilities
- Our Personal Assistants are the primary point of contact for our surgeons for administrative duties relating to all aspects of the practice including appointment diary, patient consultations and surgery bookings.
- Liaison with patients with regard to consultation and surgery requirements.
- Maintaining surgeon's diary including co-ordination with hospitals, assistant surgeons and anaesthetists for surgical lists and availability.
- Financial management of the rooms including reconcilliation of accounts, receipting of Medicare and third party payments.
- Preparation of reports for insurers, legal representatives, allied health and other medical practitioners.
- Detail driven with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A deep understanding of the Privacy Act.
- Working together with the admin assistant in the team, the right candidate will oversee all of the above and ensure that rooms run smoothly on a day to day basis.
