As the first point of contact for members, no two days will look the same and you’ll relish the opportunity to utilise both your practical experience and understanding of the Workplace Health and Safety legislative framework to support and educate our industry.
A typical week will see you:
- Provide telephone, email and face to face support to members on a range of WHS matters, including safety documentation, incident management risk assessments and practical safety solutions for their workplace
- Support the broader Health and Safety team in undertaking research around legislative change and codes of practice, advocating for the best interests of our industry.
- Assist in the development and delivery of new safety initiatives, products and services for the industry
- Deliver member training/information sessions (online or face to face)
What you will bring to the team
- Bachelor in Workplace Health and Safety Management or similar (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated WHSE experience (5+ years) ideally within the construction industry
- Sound knowledge in reviewing and writing safety documentation, including SWMS and WHS Management Plans and have a demonstrated knowledge of the current legislative framework.
- Ability to distil complex legislative requirements in an easy to understand manner (verbally and in writing
And while not essential, a Cert IV in Training and Assessment, Fire Safety Advisor qualifications, familiarity with the requirements of AS 4801 and AS ISO 9001 and/or understanding of workers compensation and return to work requirements would be highly regarded.
