Experienced Process Plant Operator

Our flagship Century project in Queensland (formerly New century resources) stands as Australia's largest tailings remining and processing operation. 

A rewarding opportunity currently exists for aExperienced ProcessingPlant Operatorto join our Sibanye Stillwater Australia team. 

This position will be offered as a 15/13-day shift working roster (FIFO), located at our Century Mine (Lawn Hill). The Point of Hire will be flying in and out of Cairns Airport.

The Processing Plant Operator will be tasked with operating the processing plant facility (milling, flotation, thickening), and ancillary equipment, to meet production requirements safely and efficiently in an environmentally sound manner.

Key accountabilities include:

• Productively participate as a member of the team to jointly achieve agreed targets and goals
• Ensure safety of all personnel working in the facility and associated areas
• Work safely and report any unsafe behaviours observed
• Identify, report and rectify all hazards

Ideally, applicants will possess the following technical skills, knowledge, and qualifications:

Technical

• Flotation (base metals preferred)
• Grinding and classification
• Trouble shooting / problem solving / decision making
• Confined space
• Working at heights

People

• Team player with the ability to maintain internal and external relationships
• Self-motivated
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal at various levels (Technical, Operational)
• Adaptable to change
• A healthy customer focus

Knowledge:

• Understanding of mineral processing and base metals flotation principles

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ proven operating experience in a minerals processing plant with base metals flotation experience
• Basic computer skills
• Experience in FIFO operations preferred (not required)

Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences:

• Valid ‘C’ Class drivers’ licence
• Applicants must have unrestricted  Australian work rights or be an Australian citizen.
