Operator – Process Plant

Sibanye Stillwater Australia, a subsidiary of Sibanye Stillwater Limited (a multinational mining and metals processing group), is a leading mining, tailings management, and economic rehabilitation company. Our flagship Century project in Queensland stands as Australia's largest tailings remining and processing operation.

A rewarding opportunity currently exists for a Operator – Process Plantto join our Sibanye Stillwater Australia team based on site at the Century Mine (Lawn Hill). This position will be offered as a permanent role on a FIFO basis - 15 days on /13 days off roster.

The Operator – Process Plant will be responsible for:

• Operating the processing plant facility (milling, flotation, thickening), and ancillary equipment, to meet production requirements safely and efficiently in an environmentally sound manner.

• Productively participate as a member of the team to jointly achieve agreed targets and goals
• Ensure safety of all personnel working in the facility and associated areas
• Work safely and report any unsafe behaviours observed
• Identify, report and rectify all hazards

Applicants shall possess the following technical, interpersonal skills, knowledge, and qualifications:

Technical:

• Flotation (base metals preferred)
• Grinding and classification
• Trouble shooting / problem solving / decision making
• Confined space
• Working at heights

People:

• Team player with the ability to maintain internal and external relationships
• Self-motivated
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal at various levels (Technical, Operational)
• Adaptable to change
• A healthy customer focus

Knowledge:

• Understanding of mineral processing and base metals flotation principles

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ proven operating experience in a minerals processing plant with base metals flotation experience
• Basic computer skills
• Experience in FIFO operations preferred (not required)

Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences:

• Valid ‘C’ Class drivers’ licence
