AddressThe position is with Kenny's Creek in Boorowa, NSW, based at Breakfast Creek Station. Breakfast Creek runs a commercial Angus program, cattle trading enterprise, cropping and pasture program.
The successful applicant will work with the farm manager and team to maintain critical farm infrastructure including stock water systems and fencing, as well as weed management. The applicant must also be willing and able to assist with livestock handling as required.
The successful applicant will be reliable, highly motivated, energetic, have a good work ethic and have a keen interest in the agricultural industry. They will demonstrate good communication and time management skills. They must be able to work independently at times. Animal husbandry skills and low stress stock handling skills preferred but not essential. Support is available for professional development and training opportunities.
This position reports to our farm manager in a small team with diverse responsibilities which will grow where ability is demonstrated.
The role:
- Assisting the farm manager in running a quality mixed farm enterprise
- Operation and maintenance of farm Plant including trucks
- Maintenance of existing fencing and erection of new fences and yards
- Maintenance of farm water infrastructure and installation of new stock water systems
- Livestock animal health and treatments
- Assisting with pasture and cropping management
- Ensuring Work Health and Safety and Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to at all times
- Working with teams on our other farms, where required.
Experience is preferred, however we will consider applicants with less experience, particularly if they have the right attitude and a desire to upskill. Our farms are located in the Hilltops Region, between Boorowa, Galong and Cowra. We are approximately is 1.5 hours from Canberra and 3 hours from Sydney.
The commencement date for this position is June 2024, however we are happy to fit in with a suitable candidate’s available timing.
