Our clients are a family-owned and operated Angus breeding operation in the picturesque Dorrigo Plateau, NSW, who are looking for a vibrant, enthusiastic person or family who wants to be involved in all aspects of the property, including animal husbandry tasks and property maintenance.
Comprising of four farms totalling 800 acres, the business runs approximately 250 breeders, retaining replacement heifers; all other progeny are sold as weaners to local markets. Focusing on producing quiet quality Angus cattle they utilise rotational grazing practices in which all stock movements are done from motorbikes or side-by-sides. This immaculate property features a large workshop with quality infrastructure, including laneways and well-maintained machinery.
This role will involve all aspects of farming life, including, but not limited to, animal husbandry, stock movements, fencing, waters, pasture improvements, machinery operation, and weed control. You will require great attention to detail, strong communication and organisational skills, and a willingness to learn as ongoing mentoring and training are provided.
The successful candidate will become a key member of the small team and, ideally, will be willing to accept some level of responsibility, allowing the owners to attend to off-farm elements as required.
The Offer
Our clients offer above-award wages with the opportunity for bonuses and progression based on experience and performance. A suitable remuneration package, including a lovely renovated two-bedroom cottage just 9km from Dorrigo, will be negotiated. You will easily access essential services, including groceries, schooling, and health services as well as employment opportunities for partners.
The area is well known for the World Heritage-listed Dorrigo National Park, providing many options for outdoor exploring.
