About the role
Reporting to the Senior Geologist we are seeking an experienced Exploration Geologist to conduct and assist with field based activities. The ideal person will have experience in exploration, working in remote areas and AC / RC drilling experience. This role is offered on a permanent fulltime basis and will be based in the West Perth office with frequent travel to various exploration camps.
Key Responsibilities
Broadly, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the management of drill programs, geophysical surveys and soil sampling.
- Collection, collating and presenting high quality geological data from exploration program.
- Ensure delivery of collected data (logging and sampling) is timely and validated to be free of errors.
- Commitment to working safely and the promotion of safe working practices with colleagues and contractors
- Identifying new exploration targets and opportunities in consultation with team members.
- Ensuring Exploration systems of work and standard work practices are current and achieve industry best practices
- You will be joining a growing and collaborative team, developing a culture of excellence, supported by a great field services team.
About yourself
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in hydrothermal mineral deposits with experience exploring for Orogenic gold hosted in Archaean greenstone terranes an advantage.
- Experience logging and understanding of Archean regolith profile and the effect on gold distribution.
- An understanding of Archean lithologies, mineralisation, alteration and regolith structure is desirable.
- Supervision and management experience of Diamond, RC and AC drill rigs, including sampling practices and QA/QC.
- Execution of remote drill programs, including, remote camp logistics experience.
- Skills in geological software applications, such as QGIS, IoGas and Leapfrog.
- Current unencumbered West Australian 'C' Class manual Driver's License.
