Job description:
About the Role:
Reporting to the National Export & Trade Desk Manager, the successful candidate will:
- Be familiar with all aspects of service scope of AAXS, AAXW, AAXE, NEMO (SL) TTZ-1 and ANZ shuttle for exports
- Weekly updates to commercial mgmt. on performance vs forecasts, rationale & reasons for shortfall, and trade performance
- Provide tactical management booking flows to optimize utilisation and reducing costs working closely with all stakeholders
- Build, develop, implement, and analyze vessel profiles
- Analysis prepare and analyze market information of competitors in the trade
- Define, develop, and pilot commercial strategies in line with Principal directions to improve cargo mix and market share
- Define and pilot commercial strategies (budget, Action plan) in line with Principal directions
- Prioritize Lines' instructions in collaboration with the Agency Trade Manager. Present directions to Sales Management
- Report to Lines issues related to allocations (COA/CSA), pricing, routing, and other issues
- Adhere to all procedures within the Quality Management System, and where necessary, recommend alterations to the procedures in accordance with the systems, to ensure reflection of current practices
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in a business discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in the shipping industry preferred
- Commercial background in Sales and/or Customer Care
- An understanding of both ‘macro' and ‘micro' business fundamentals
- Highly developed computer and spreadsheet skills including a high level of numeracy
- Ability to function as part of a team working in multi skilled environment
