What you’ll be doing

The Project engineers (PE) manage teams throughout the entire span of a project which is technical or involves engineering. They ensure the design, consistency and functionality of a project throughout its entire process. They prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor all assigned projects and communicate during daily interactions with clients to interpret requirements and needs.

Project engineers communicate with the project manager and other members of the team to provide any necessary assistance or technical support. They review the engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions throughout the duration of the project. They prepare schedules, and coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects. They monitor compliance with applicable codes and practices as well as quality assurance and quality control policies. They strive to prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the project to ensure it adheres to its budget. Project engineers need a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or construction management.

Responsibilities include:  
•    The PE provides a layer at the top of every delivery team that can operate as a direct nexus to the client
•    In delivery engagements, PEs provide a critical level of management and assurance to advisory, strategy, and innovation initiatives. 
•    70% project management / co-ordination.
•    30% technical as the Project Engineer will be supported by the LTE technical team.
•    Deep subject matter experts in fields such as LTE, WiFi, IoT, Digital Radio, and other wireless technologies.
•    Expertise and adaptability to easily hit the ground running and be versatile to achieve project outcomes.
•    Perform design, development, and/or analysis to support assigned projects.
•    Perform CAE simulations, analyze and utilize outputs to optimize product design.
•    Provide senior-level technical expertise to client on project aspects within the discipline.
•    Engage with internal resources to ensure fulfillment of the project.
•    Generate periodic reports on behalf of clients on the project status.
•    Track, report and work to improve production of self-performed work
•    Preparation of project plans, extensions of design and contract submittals.
•    Perform site visits during development and construction to manage design process.
•    Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in engineering projects.

Working conditions 
•    Based in Perth WA 
•    Onsite 
•    Permanent full time 
•    Occasional travel to operational sites 
•    May be required to work outside of regular business hours to facilitate work at operational sites  

What will make you successful in this role? 

Essentials 
•    Demonstrated 6-10 years of Project Engineering experience in business and digital transformation
•    Experience in both Agile and Waterfall project management capabilities
•    Hands on approach to all aspects of the project life cycle 
•    Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing medium to large-scale transformation initiatives, preferably within complex mining/oil/gas, IT/telecommunications, etc.
•    Demonstrated experience in project planning, resource allocation, and budget management.
•    Exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners
•    Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to navigate challenges and drive results-focused and innovative solutions.
•    Ability to work within complex organisational environments and remote teams  
•    A strong focus on ensuring the project has user buy-in early and throughout the project, delivering a fit-for-purpose and well accepted end product
•    Ability to perform under pressure, resolve conflicts and achieve agreement amongst users and stakeholders  

Desirable

Qualifications
•    List of licenses and certifications required by the position: CISCO, CCNA, BICSI, CISSP, CCNP, ITIL
•    Desired skills for telecommunication engineer include:
o    International codes and specs for safety critical systems would be beneficial
o    Computer software for telecommunication network design
o    HTTP, IEC, IEEE, IKE/IPSec, ITU, MSRP, NFPA
