City of Newcastle is looking to seek Expressions of Interest from experienced tree workers who have the following qualification and skill set to continue to join our City Greening team to deliver a high-quality service to our community as either a Tree worker, Leading Hand or a Supervisor:
- Currently completing Tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture AQF Level 2- 3 in Horticulture (Arboriculture) with additional certifications in:
- General WHS Induction for Construction Work in NSW Certificate (White Card) and minimum class “MR” driver’s licence.
- AQF3 Chem use
- Safe Work Near Powerlines
- Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans
- Elevated Work Platform Certificate (National Licence to perform High-Risk Work WP - boom type Elevated Work Platform over 11m). or willingness to obtain
These are permanent positions working a 38-hour week with an option of a 9 day fortnight.

Remuneration: Field Supervisor $73,742.42 + WAA Allowance + 11% Superannuation per annum for a 38-hour week.
Leading Hand - Tree Maintenance $68,554.00 + WAA Allowance + 11% Superannuation per annum for a 38-hour week.
Tree Worker - Tree Maintenance $64,682.33 + WAA Allowance + 11% Superannuation per annum for a 38-hour week.
