Fabricator

With the current growth, Street Machine Garage is seeking a passionate and dedicated employee who thrives in the automotive industry. This position will be located in Coomera, Gold Coast and hired on casual basis or fulltime basis depending on the applicant. 

You will work closely with a small team, with a great culture and the ability to work as a team and unsupervised. Our workshop is equipped with some of the latest tools, equipment and facilities to assist you in producing the highest quality of work. Your expertise with rust work repairs and welding will go a long way in this role. 

About the role: 

The successful applicant will be supporting the team in automotive repairs and builds. This position will be heavily involved with rust repair, drilling, sanding and grinding that would ideally suit someone who is willing to grow and expand within their role and skill set. 

The following tasks will be required:

• Assessing damaged vehicles and deciding on best approach to complete work
• Using specialised tools and equipment to carry out repairs 
• Performing quality control including final work checks 
• Following OHS requirements to complete work in an appropriate manner
• Completing records and reports in relation to work carried out 

What we are looking for: 

• Experience working as a Fabricator
• A keen eye for detail 
• Experience working with steel 
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy 
• Good time management skills and be able to take direction. 
• Can work autonomously and apart of a team 
• Proficient in the use of workshops tools (MIG welder, pedestal drill, grinder & band saw)
• Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements

To be successful in this role: 

• The desire and passion for the automotive industry 
• Minimum 2 years experience in metal fabrication 
• Minimum 2 years experience in an automotive repair role 
• MIG Welding Experience (TIG welding is highly desirable) 
• Fabrication and or Automotive Certificate is highly regarded 
• Must hold an Open Drivers Licence
