We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a passionate Industrial Fitter/Fabricator onsite at our Burleigh Heads retail ready facility where we slice, prepare and flavour finished goods for retail customers.
The role:
Join our team as an Industrial Fitter/Fabricator, in this role you will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and collaborate closely with a team of 13 professionals. As a valued member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in executing a diverse range of preventative maintenance and breakdown tasks essential to maintaining a robust fitting and maintenance program. You will also be expected to excel as our site's expert in machining and fabricating spare parts.
A key focus of this role and our maintenance team is to guarantee the ongoing availability, reliability, and capability of the plant's processes, systems, and equipment. By ensuring proactive maintenance and swift responses to issues, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our operations at peak efficiency.
Working Hours: Majority of your hours will be Monday to Friday day work with occasional overtime as required. Some flexibility will be required to work a fortnightly rotating roster when covering your work colleagues on annual, or other, leave and this may include morning and afternoon shifts.
Your responsibilities will include:
- The fabrication and machining of a range of parts, custom plant equipment and machinery in a timely manner to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Interpreting and creating designs for new machinery & equipment/parts.
- Assisting other members of the team to respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively.
- Demonstrating strong fault-finding skills and the ability to resolve problems to ensure minimum downtime of all plant equipment.
- Working closely with our Operations team to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are identified and introduced wherever practicable.
- Completing all documentation and record keeping requirements in a timely manner.
- Working constructively and co-operatively within a team environment.
- Always ensuring a key focus on safety.
What you’ll need:
- A current Queensland Trade Certification.
- A current Queensland Fitter Trade Certification.
- Expertise in machining/fabricating.
- High level TIG welding ability.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- The ability to demonstrate initiative and work constructively as part of a team supporting your co-workers.
- A strong understanding of GMP & HACCP requirements.
- A commitment to complying with company policies, procedures and all relevant legislative requirements.
