About the role:
Our Adelaide team has a wide-ranging portfolio, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on high profile local projects, as well as collaborate with our national and global facade teams. You will learn to develop façade solutions from concept phase to construction, and maintenance to re-life.
Our facades projects require an enthusiasm for problem-solving, creativity and a detail-focussed approach to your work. We work on multiple projects in parallel, in a fast-paced team environment that encourages sharing of information and excellent communication.
What will I do?
· Collaborate with the team to assist in designing building facades for aesthetic appeal, functionality, structural sufficiency, air tightness, waterproofing, durability and energy efficiency, gaining foundational knowledge in Facade Engineering.
· Undertake thermal and structural analysis / design of façade systems, with support from the senior members of our team.
· Support in conducting basic thermal and structural analysis of facade systems.
· Assist in specifying facade materials and basic oversight of their installation systems to meet minimum performance and code requirements.
· Participate in collaborating with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure the facade design integrates with the overall building design requirements (e.g. base structure, acoustics, fire, energy modelling, blast etc).
What do I bring?
· Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications bachelor’s degree in Structural, civil, / mechanical, architectural or / aerospace engineering. or similar area;
· Relevant engineering experience within a consulting business environment (minimum 2 years), façade engineering experience not mandatory.
· Proficiency in Strand7, GSA or similar structural analysis software is strongly preferred.
· Basic competency in AutoCAD, Sketch-up or Rhino is beneficial, but not mandatory.
· Relevant experience in High proficiency in Microsoft suite applications required (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc).
