Integral to the role is collaboration at all levels on innovative service partnership models that align with facility, Hospital and Health Service (HHS), state-wide and national initiatives.Provide expert professional leadership, authoritative counsel and strategic advice to Executive leadership and other key stakeholders on issues relating to the management and delivery of Speech Pathology and Audiology services. The role is a member of the Allied Health Professions (AHP) Service Line Service Executive Group (SEG) and represents AHP through strategic portfolios.Provide expert clinical knowledge, skills and professional leadership in the coordinated planning, implementation and evaluation of Speech Pathology and Audiology clinical services, supervision frameworks, and continuing professional education and training. The position also has a key leadership role in facilitating and driving quality improvement, research, and contemporary approaches to designing responsive, equitable and person-centred clinical services that support and meet the needs of patients/consumers and their families.About youThis successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Develop and communicate the strategic direction for the Speech Pathology and Audiology Department, aligned to AHP, RBWH and MNH's vision and strategies, to ensure achievement of objectives and agreed outcomes. This includes accountability for:
- Providing strategic management across a large, complex Speech Pathology and Audiology service within a tertiary and quaternary referral hospital, driving professional standards and workforce capability and sustainability in priority areas.
- Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of Speech Pathology and Audiology services
- Membership and active contribution to strategic level Allied Health committees and portfolios as directed by the Executive Director AHP and profession-specific working parties/committees on a local, State-wide, and/or national level to contribute to the broader operational management and strategic direction of Speech Pathology and Audiology services within MNH and state-wide
