Where you will be based
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital provides a comprehensive range of Clinical Services to residents of the Sydney Local Health District and has specialised areas of practice in liver, renal and bone marrow transplant, Melanoma therapy, Haematology, Cardiology and Mental Health. The pharmacy department provides clinical trials, outpatients and production unit services and is a leader in the deployment of novel and innovative models of clinical care.
About the role
The opportunity exists for an experienced pharmacist to join the dynamic Pharmacy service at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The role of Senior Pharmacist Clinical Services is a unique position providing direction and development opportunities to the pharmacy staff in their delivery of Clinical Services at Royal Prince Alfred and Balmain Hospitals. The role works closely with the Senior Pharmacist Education and Training and assists in developing the annual CE plan for the department. The position includes direct clinical service provision in addition to management responsibilities. Significant aspects of the position are detailed in the position description. The Senior Pharmacist Clinical Services is a member of the Pharmacy Management team and contributes to the strategic plan of the department. The successful candidate will be required to commit to on-call and weekend work on a rostered schedule. This position is open as a job share for suitable part time candidates.

  • A full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions on scope of practice.
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy practice, preferably in a large teaching hospital, including experience managing the provision of pharmacy services in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Standards.
  • The ability to work on call, weekends, after hours and public holidays as required.

About working for SLHD
This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy .
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
