Facilities and Capital Projects Manager

KDHS is in an exciting place when it comes to infrastructure development, having just completed building works to enhance our Urgent Care Centre, Acute Ward and Residential Aged Care Facility, we are now moving on to our Training and Education Hub as well as upgrading emergency infrastructure to meet today's standards.

About the Role:
This is a genuine opportunity to build on your current skills and knowledge in Facilities Management and Capital Projects and apply them to a healthcare setting that benefits our Community. This role will plan, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the efficient and effective delivery of all Building, Engineering, Maintenance, Grounds and Garden Services ensuring all building, engineering, emergency and environmental standards are met.

You will also manage the development, monitoring and reporting of building works and infrastructure project delivery through implementation of best practice Project Management principles, including contract management support for the Health Service’s capital expenditure program and other infrastructure commitments. The role works both independently and in collaboration with the Director of People & Culture.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate experience and capability in construction and infrastructure project management, planning and delivery within agreed time frames and budget allocation. You will have extensive knowledge and experience in tendering processes, contract management and administration as well as the supervision of contractors.

Ideally you will be tertiary qualified in a relevant field such as project management or engineering or have a proven track record in a similar role. The ability to prioritise work and adapt to fluctuating workloads as well as strong analytical skills, combined with the ability to collect, organise and disseminate information with attention to detail will be highly regarded.

About the team

You will lead a group of qualified trades people, experienced in maintaining a health facility as well as general maintenance and handyperson staff and a long established team of experienced contractors in the delivery of facilities maintenance and capital projects. About Kyabram

Kyabram is a town in north central Victoria, located in the centre of a rich irrigation district in the Goulburn River Valley. 200 kilometres north of Melbourne. It is the second-largest town in the Shire of Campaspe, situated between the towns of Echuca (30 klms east) and Shepparton (30 klms west) and is close to the Murray River, Goulburn River, Campaspe River and Waranga Basin. The name of the town is thought to derive from an Aboriginal word Kiambram meaning "Thick Forest".

Kyabram is serviced by three state schools, prep to year 12 and has a Catholic primary and secondary school (St Augustine's College), two kindergartens and the Kyabram Community & Learning Centre providing community services and adult learning opportunities for the people of Kyabram and the surrounding region.

Kyabram also has their own Blue Light branch run by local police, business owners and community members providing youth engagement activities for young people in the district. The group is well known for their program known as KyFit which is a gym based mentoring program conducted throughout the town weekly, which has been the base for many similar programs country wide. Kyabram Blue Light often enters teams in many local events such as the Massive Murray Marathon and the Mad Cow Mud Run, where local police officers and young people come together to form teams. Kyabram Blue Light is currently headed up by Senior Constable Mitchell Bull, who was named Campaspe Shire's Citizen of the Year 2022.
