We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, client-focused facilities manager to join our Property and Facilities Team within the Sustainable Environment and Infrastructure department.
The role of Facilities Maintenance and Operations Officer will play an integral function in supporting the implementation and delivery of various Council programs such as Routine and Programmed Building Maintenance. The role responsible for overseeing the routine and programmed building maintenance, including Essential Safety Measures (ESM), Security Access, and HVAC to providing safe, compliant buildings for our community, service partners, tenants, and Yarra Ranges staff.
Part of an innovative and progressive team and reporting to the Building Assets & Maintenance Coordinator, this role plays a pivotal role in collaborating with customers, stakeholders and services delivery partners to provide the required level of service, balanced by budget and need toward future building asset planning.
What you’ll bring to our team
- Experienced in delivery of a maintenance service across diverse building assets and complex portfolios in a Facilities Maintenance environment
- Knowledge of relevant building standards, codes of practices, OH&S, and ESM Regulations
- Knowledge of Building Condition Audits and a practical and logical appreciation of asset “life cycle” attributes
- Proven ability to foster strong stakeholder relationships and positive relationships with contract partners, internal, and community stakeholders
- Ability to contribute to achieving team goals by sharing information, involving team members in decisions, and demonstrating commitment to the team
- Effective time and resource management skills to ensure that work is completed efficiently and on schedule despite distractions or other obstacles
- Persistence in achieving goals when faced with obstacles by doubling efforts or trying multiple strategies
- Currency in industry best practice by creating time to be curious, explore and learn.
- Qualifications in Facilities Management highly regarded but not essential.

Salary from $73,839 per annum (Band 5), plus superannuation.
