An exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Facilities Manager to lead and coordinate our facilities and property portfolio. Bring your experience to leverage your skills and knowledge within Facilities Management!

We are currently looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to join our Engineering & Asset Management team and contributes to the achievement of our vision and strategic objectives through the delivery of efficient, well organized and timely management of assets under lease.

The role will also be responsible for maintaining “best in class” service delivery, innovation and planning in order to meet organisational goals, improve performance and contribute towards a professional, high-functioning and collaborative culture.

Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop relevant plans, matrices and processes across the 500+ leases to manage the facilities management obligations across the portfolio.
  • Conduct regular inspections of property under lease to; assess asset condition, identify maintenance issues, inform renewal planning and ensure properties are compliant and meet safety standards.
  • Coordinate maintenance issues with the Faults management team and contractors on areas of responsibility as determined by the lease and liaise with tenants and Property team as required. Ensure timely completion of issues and provide regular updates.
  • Maintain regular communications with tenants and provide first point of contact for tenants for request for information or lease issues.
  • Support tenants in any facility improvement requests, endorse permit applications and coordinate with internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Review tenant development design for maintenance implications, cost accordingly and provision in budgets where applicable.
  • Assist in the development of capital renewal plans for APAM owned assets within tenanted properties and any associated business case funding papers as required.
  • Processing of monthly maintenance costs and ensure cost are managed in accordance with budget.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3-5 + years of business, property / asset management, operations experience
  • Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, asset management or similar is desired
  • Ability to develop long term relationships and negotiate successful outcomes in a tenant facing property management role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of property practices and principles would be an advantage
  • Business planning and financial skills including the ability to develop budgets, business case development, time and resource planning.
  • Be able to work effectively with a small internal team and manage large teams of external facilities management professionals, ensuring they are all focused on moving towards a clear and common goal.
  • A clear understanding of cost management disciplines, asset renewal planning, risk management and environmental and OHS authorities and responsibilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence internal and external stakeholders on sensitive and commercial issues.
