As a Facilities Shift Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. You will be responsible accountable for supporting the maintenance and documentation of Data Centre operations and ensuring the effective execution of processes and procedures for the uptime of the facilities.
The role involves all aspects of Data Centre operations, including the operation, maintenance, and repair of all mission-critical equipment and systems to ensure 24/7 data centre functionality.
This role operates on a 4-day on, 4-day off roster, providing a balanced work-life schedule.

The Role
- Supporting the maintenance of electrical & mechanical infrastructure.
- Manage contractors and service staff.
- Conduct inspections and surveys and develop recommendations and specifications to improve, repair or modify Electrical & Mechanical infrastructure.
- Interface with building management systems (BMS) and other automated tools.
- Maintain appropriate vendor relationships.
- Support accurate and timely reporting on the Data Centre's operations.
- Enforce compliance with all OH&S procedures and requirements.
- Support the Facilities Engineering Manager - Chief Engineer during their absence.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in data centre facility management would be well regarded.
- Strong communication skills.
- Operational knowledge of electrical distribution, switchgear, transformers, automatic transfer switches, UPS, STS, DRUPS, battery management systems, generators, and PDUs to the branch level.
- Operational knowledge of Chillers, DX systems, CRAH/CRAC units, dehumidifiers, water pumps, leak detection, VFDs, cooling towers, digital controls and BMS, and fire detection and suppression.
- Practical communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with internal and external customers.
- Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with local/national regulatory codes, guidelines, and permit processes.
- Competent use of Computerized Maintenance Tools (CMMS, BMS, DCIM).
- Strong Excel skills.
