City of Canning is dedicated to creating a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for our employees and visitors. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Facilities Technical Officer to join our dynamic team on a permanent, part-time basis!
About the role
The Facilities Technical Officer is responsible for monitoring and improving the supply and cost efficiency of the utility resources used at City-owned or leased facilities. This includes maintaining and enhancing utility services monitoring, analysis, and reporting. Additionally, the role involves coordinating minor projects and engaging with stakeholders, both internal and external. The position also requires periodic reviews and advice on supplier offerings to ensure long-term reliability and cost efficiency of utilities consumption.
In this role, you will undertake duties such as:
- Review and update current facilities assets, services and suppliers
- Review facility utility consumption, charges and look for anomalies and trends in data
- Implement energy-efficient sustainable principles and technologies
- Provide advice on best practice utility management
- Liaise with contractors including electrical and plumbing for repairs and service management
Skills & Experience
- Relevant qualification and/or equivalent experience in facilities or utilities management
- Experience with capturing, analysing and reporting on data and trends
- Confident with using modern software systems for mobile data collection and reporting
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively and productively with stakeholders at all levels
