Job Description
Our Network Engineering team are the architects and custodians of our networks that enable our core products suite - connectivity. The Network Engineering team design, install and maintain production networks to enable maximum performance and availability to our internal and external customers.
The role of the Facilities Engineer is to provide on-site technical support for all data centre and POI facilities Superloop has a presence in.
What will you do?
- Installation, termination and testing of copper and fibre optic cabling.
- Ensuring cable management standards meet the expected quality.
- Troubleshooting cabling-related faults and determining/actioning the appropriate resolution.
- Adhering to regulation and compliance guidelines along with completing the appropriate required documentation.
- Assisting Superloop Operational Teams with preparation, configuration and deployment of new and existing hardware.
- Assisting in on-site troubleshooting to resolve network issues.
- Assisting with configuration changes provided by the Operations Team via Remote Session.
- Assist with the RMA and swap out of faulty hardware.
- Ability to act as a Contractor and Service Technician Liaison.
- Conduct incident and problem management tasks according to protocol.
- Creating and providing documentation and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent Superloop and liaise with customers, suppliers, vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of faults and enquiries.
- Take ownership, respond and complete allocated tasks/projects/activities to agreed timelines.
- Participate in the 24x7 on-call roster system.
The ideal candidate will have:
- ACMA Cabling Registration (Open Registration) with the following competencies - Structured Cablin and Optic Fibre Terminations
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in Field Technical role.
- Time management and the ability to organise resources and meet deadlines.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to people in a range of positions.
- Hold a valid drivers license and the ability to travel.
- Ability to travel internationally with a valid passport.
- Ability to obtain working with children check and/or Blue Card.
- Ability to obtain a successful police check suitable with the position of working in areas of Education, Defence, Government, Large Enterprise and Residential settings.
- Ability to meet WH&S requirements as stipulated by the organisation or our customers - such as vaccinations, white card or other reasonable licenses.
- Desirable - TAFE or higher qualifications in Telecommunications, Computer Networking or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Desirable - Industry recognised certifications.
- Adhere to all company and workplace health and safety guidelines.
- Ability to work without supervision, individually and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
