Facility Supervisor

GV Independent Packers Pty Ltd is a family owned and operated business since 1948, with over 1,500 acres of orchards within the Goulburn Valley region producing a range of apples, pears and stonefruits for supply to the national market and for export. Our company oversees the entire journey of our produce, from production, storage, packing, marketing, and transportation.

GV Independent Packers Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time qualified Facility Supervisor on our site in Shepparton, Victoria 3630. The salary offered is $70,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Job duties and responsibilities include:

·   Manage the shed floor daily and lead a team of staff efficiently.

·    Ensure all cool rooms are operating correctly.

·    Ensure all produce is packed to specifications without compromising on quality control.

·     Liaise with the post-harvest operations manager to predetermine daily/weekly objectives.

·     Assist the post-harvest operations manager in supervising staff engaged in quality control, residue limit monitoring and protocol requirements for all markets.

·     Assist in liaising with our grower services teams and farm managers to ensure the smooth delivery of fresh produce for packing.

·     Assist to oversee the procurement of temporary labour, consumables, freight and other services required to take produce from farms through the supply chain to our customers.

·     Operate the traceability management systems and processes to ensure the shed floor is run cost effectively without compromising on the quality output provided to our customer base and suggest improvements to the system.

·     Follow and help ensure all packing shed staff comply with Occupational Health and Safety Policies/Procedures, and quality assurance requirements.

·     Assist in the completion of all quality system documentation.

 The applicant will have the following skills and experience:

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• AQF Certificate II in horticulture, agriculture or in a related field (preferred).
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and manage a team to maintain a high standard of work practices.
