Position overview
The Factory Hand plays a vital role in our manufacturing operations, working closely with a skilled and supportive team. We are seeking someone who is not only a great all-rounder but also has a passion for expanding their skill set and taking on new challenges. Principle responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team to perform a variety of tasks including machine operation, assembly, packaging and quality control.
- Assist in the set-up and adjustment of machinery and equipment to meet production requirements.
- Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to ensure product quality and safety.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and successful completion of tasks.
- Operation of fork-lift and crane and other materials handling equipment which requires licensing.
- Packaging and despatch of completed orders and receipt of deliveries in the store.
- Assist with stock take and carry out monthly spot checks on store items.
- General housekeeping and ground maintenance.
Essential criteria:
- Previous experience in production work or in a similar role within a factory environment.
- Versatility and the ability to adapt to various tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour when required.
- Sound knowledge of hand/power tools and light metal fabrication skills.
- Forklift Licence from an approved trainer desirable but not essential.
