About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Factory Manager to oversee the production of joinery, to ensure quality items are produced consistently, on-time, and within budget. This role will play a critical role in influencing the success of Unita Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely, while maintaining high levels of quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure all projects are designed, fabricated and installed in a safe, efficient and professional manner.
- Ensure all operational activities are undertaken in a safe, efficient, cost effective and professional manner.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure the team provide accurate and timely estimations of jobs.
- Ensure effective communication on the status of jobs to the Construction and Delivery teams.
- Ensure appropriate scheduling of jobs and monitor progress from conversion to completion, ensuring timeframes are met and communicated.
- Ensure inventory is managed efficiently, including levels of general stock.
- Ensure that the project pipeline is achieving targeted goals; proactively escalating to the CFO and COO when deficiencies/surpluses are identified.
- Ensure Nexvia project budgets are kept current and accurate.
- Ensure OPEX and CAPEX are managed to budget.
What you will bring to the role:
- Excellent attention to detail with strong interpersonal and written communication.
- The ability to confidently communicate with a range of audiences ensuring messages are concise, articulate and impactful using the most appropriate methods of communication.
- Builds cooperation and overcomes barriers to information sharing, communication and collaboration.
- Reflects on own performance and behaviour and actively seeks feedback to inform own learning and development needs.
- The ability to foresee roadblocks, successfully troubleshoot and manage issues as they arise.
Skills and experience:
- Qualifications in carpentry, joinery or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years' experience at a joinery facility.
- In-depth understanding of joinery, materials, pricing and industry.
- Demonstrated experience in the Microsoft suite of products.
- Understanding of OH&S and IR Standards.
- Aptitude for operational and financial reports.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets; both at the project and company level.
